What Kind of a Scientist Are You?
Assessing the quality of your investigation


Directions for assessment

The simplest evaluation is a check list:

  • Did you collect the data?

  • Did you record the data?

  • Did you do any data analysis?

  • Did you make any graphs?



  • The next stage of evaluation is assesment of quality:


  • Are your conclusions consistant with your stated goals?

  • Does your analysis reveal tendencies or trends in the data ?

  • Are your graphs clearly labeled as to which axis is which variable?

  • Have you been able to find a formula for your graph?

  • Can you make predictions based on your formula?

  • Have you verified your formula?
