Be an endocrinologist for a day! You’ll have the opportunity to examine the medical records of several patients who suffer from endocrine disorders. After examining their charts you will do Internet research to help diagnose and treat their problem.

You are an endocrinologist who will be examining one or several patients who suffer from endocrine disorders. Based on their signs and symptoms you will:

1. Diagnose the disorder.

2. Inform the patient about the disorder.

3. Discuss the prevention, duration, treatments, and prognosis of the disorder.

 

Before you begin... take a tour of the endocrine system. You will need to design, complete, and turn in a chart that includes the following:

• The name of the gland.
• The location of the gland (general area).
• List the hormones that the gland produces.
• For each hormone listed; give the function/purpose.
