Goals and Objectives

In this lesson, students in grades K-3 should be able to accomplish the following.

Goals

Students will use the Internet to research and collect data about an animal and its home.

Students will be able to understand why an animal's particular home is perfect for it.

Students will use science thinking processes of "observing, communicating, infering, predicting and comparing."

Students will be able to predict what might happen to the animal if its home is destroyed.

Students will be able to choose possible solutions to keeping the animal's home safe from destruction.

Objectives

Students are able to use the Internet to find information.

Students will learn the basics of communicating with others electronically through using "Ask A Scientist."

Students are able to present their findings in the medium of their choice.

Students are able to identify factors that affect an animal's habitat.
