Welcome to
Mars Geological Survey
A Earth Science Lesson in Geology & Astronomy for Grades 6-12
by
William Murray

The Mars Geologic Survey is a cooperative learning activity that will familiarize
students with geologic processes that take place on both Mars and the Earth. The
investigative process is just as important as the end product. Students will use the
resources including the tutorials and earth photos to learn about mass wasting
processes. They will then apply that knowledge to identify the same type of geologic
features on Mars.

This lesson contains many graphics, images and photos which may require time to
download. A 28.8 baud modem is the absolutely minimum with a 33.6 baud or higher
recommended. Additionally, the Mars Landslide Plates only work correctly with
Netscape Navigator.

All photos and images are Public Domain and were obtained from NASA, JPL,
USGS or the California Division of Mines and Geology.
