Coastal Tides

This activity is for an individual. If you worked as a team on the Scavenger Hunt, then each member of the team should select his/her own coastal area and perform the activity.

Select a coastal area. (Use an atlas or one of the tide prediction links listed below to help you select an area.) How high are the high tides and low tides in this area? What time of day are they predicted to occur? Chart the tides using a spreadsheet for one month, i.e. new moon to new moon. Is there a pattern over time of the heights of the tides?
