What We Know/What Do We
Need to Know
|
1. Recording what you know about life forms on Earth
and the characteristics of life forms, what types of gases they live in
and environmental adaptations
they may have made is a first step in finding out what environment may
be needed to survive beyond Earth.
Here is a list of Earth life forms:
-
Aardvarks (mammals)
-
Deep sea worms and clams by ocean volcanic vents
-
Bacteria of Desert Area
-
Astronauts (humans)
Then make a list of what you need to know .
2. Record what you know about life beyond Earth, in our
Solar System and out in space. Use this list to define what you know:
-
Moon
-
Mars and other planets of our solar system
-
View of Universe and beyond through telescopes and satellites
Then make a list of what you need to know about life
beyond Earth.
3. List what you know and then list what you need to know
about the following:
-
Conditions necessary for life?
-
How do life forms adapt to different conditions?
-
What are robots? What are satellites? How are they used in space studies?
-
How has man traveled in space? What is the future of man in space?
-
What is an extraterrestrial? Define exobiology?
-
What kind of atmospheres and geological environments can we speculate
will be out there, in our Solar System?
-
What kinds of environments can we expect to find in deep space?
-
Can life exist beyond Earth?
