Letter to County Supervisors
|
April 10, 2000 County Board of Supervisors
Dear Board Members: The recent infestation of Red Imported Fire Ants (RIFA) at Main Street Elementary School is most disturbing to our district officials, school administrators, and the parents and children of the school. Efforts to eradicate this pest must begin immediately. The District contacted the State Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) in an effort to begin eradication efforts. State officials informed our District Representative that local agencies have been empowered to fight the RIFA. In our county, that would be the County Vector Control Office. In as much as the County is the local empowered agency, the District strongly recommends you to consider the necessary steps to eradicate the RIFA in our area. Sincerely,
Ian Anderson, President |
