Oxygen is the eighth (8) element in the PERIODIC TABLE. Oxygen was named in 1777 by a chemist named Antoine Lavoisier.

You probably already know that you breathe oxygen and need it to live. Did you know that if you breathe too much oxygen, you could die? Or that if you had a room filled with Oxygen and HYDROGEN, and someone lit a match, it would explode? That's because oxygen is very REACTIVE.
